Photo Essay: Virginia beach-house
My family gets together more since my brother passed in 2020. I wish we did this more before losing him, but we weren’t the same people back then. We landed a nice Airbnb on the beach in Hampton Roads’ Ocean View neighborhood. Love that area. It’s being gentrified but some of it’s old personality still remains. The beach is quiet. The house is old. Creaky floors and the typical odd layout of a home built in the early 20th century being adapted for modern living. Sometimes the opposite of a sterile hotel room is exactly what I need.
I only took one camera and lens on this one. The Nikon zf and 26mm f2.8 with a Polar Pro shortstache filter. Love this combo. I go between this lens and the 50mm s-line. This was a family trip. the 26 feels more intimate. I’m a participator not an observer.
